Leland VFW post earns fifth consecutive All-American designation
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Leland Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 12196 has received the organization’s All-American designation for the fifth consecutive year, according to the post.
The recognition, awarded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars National Headquarters, is given to posts that meet performance benchmarks in areas including membership growth, financial management and community service.
According to the VFW post, the designation covers the years 2022 through 2026.
The post also announced that founder Gerald Decker has been re-elected as commander of Leland Post 12196 and has been elected commander of VFW District 5, which serves portions of southeastern North Carolina.
Leland Post 12196 was chartered in 2019 and serves veterans, active-duty service members and military families in the Leland and Belville areas.
In a news release, Decker said the recognition reflects the work of the organization’s volunteers and members.
The post said it supports its operations through volunteer efforts and community fundraising activities while providing veterans’ services and community outreach programs.
