Local food bank spins new twist on telethons

Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — Beginning at 6:00 p.m. Friday, the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina will stream a live show on its website for 24 hours straight.

It’s a new twist on an old fashion telethon. During the 24 hours, those logging on will have the chance to participate in a Social Media Mixer, watch live interviews and be entertained.

The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina is based in Raleigh, but all branches across the state will benefit from the event.

Check it out for yourself after watching Good Morning Carolina anchor Ashley Jacobs’ live interview with Wilmington’s Food Bank Branch Director Jeff Rose.
