Local volleyball programs receive donations from Capt’n Bill’s

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Capt’n Bill’s is investing in local school athletics by donating funding to middle and high school volleyball programs across southeastern North Carolina for the 2026-27 school year.

The Wilmington restaurant and sand volleyball facility announced it will provide $1,500 to each local high school volleyball program and $500 to each local middle school volleyball program.

According to Capt’n Bill’s, the donations are intended to help schools cover costs associated with operating volleyball programs, including equipment, uniforms, tournament expenses and other program needs.

Owner Brookes Musser said the initiative is aimed at supporting coaches and student-athletes while helping grow the sport in the region. “The sport of volleyball has created an amazing community within Capt’n Bill’s, and we believe it’s important to give back to the programs that are developing the next generation of players,” said Brookes Musser.

Capt’n Bill’s has served southeastern North Carolina for more than 34 years and has become known for hosting sand volleyball leagues and tournaments in addition to operating as a restaurant.

The business said it has contributed more than $1 million to the community over the years through charitable donations, fundraising events and partnerships with local organizations.

Officials said the latest investment continues the company’s efforts to support youth athletics and expand opportunities for young volleyball players.
