BLADEN COUNTY, N.C. (WWAY) — The North Carolina High School Athletic Association announced their NCHSAA Hall of Fame Class of 2026 this morning.

The 2026 class includes Patty Evers, the longtime coach of East Bladen High School’s girls basketball program. Evers has made quite the impact within her community, holding a career record of 655-159, 580 of those wins in her time with the Lady Eagles.

Her teams have captured 15 conference championships, made 22 NCHSAA regional appearances, nine final fours, and five Eastern Regional Championships.

Evers has taught for 26 years, and also served as an athletic director during this time. As well as her obligations to East Bladen, Evers expanded her reach in North Carolina sports, serving as a NCHSAA Board of Directors member, as well as a NCADA Board of Directors member.

The East Bladen Lady Eagles made the third round of the 2a state playoffs this season. Evers returned as head coach at the beginning of the season, after initially announcing her retirement.
