Man accused of leading law enforcement on chase day after ending probation

ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WWAY) — An Elizabethtown man was arrested Friday after reportedly leading law enforcement on a foot chase. It happened one day after the man finished probation, according to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 12:30 p.m., the sheriff’s office says deputies and Elizabethtown police officers chased Tommy Lee Harmon, 36, from the Bladen County Courthouse to Taco Bell, which was approximately two blocks.

Harmon reportedly ran after he found out there were outstanding warrants on him for misdemeanor larceny by Bladenboro Police Department.

Harmon had just been released from Probation and Parole Thursday after completing his probation, the sheriff’s office said.

Harmon was charged with possession of stolen goods, misdemeanor larceny, and resisting public officer. Bond was $2,000 secured.
