Man arrested for murder of woman found at hotel and her unborn child

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man is behind bars charged with killing a woman and her unborn child at a hotel last week.

Wilmington Police arrested Tevin Demetrius Vann, 24, late last night and charged him with two counts of first-degree murder in the death of Ashley Ann Mclean, 21, of Lillington, and her unborn child. McLean’s body was found in a room at the Best Western off Market Street Friday.

According to jail records, Vann is also charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and failure to appear.

Vann is in the New Hanover County jail with no bond.
