Man arrested, other wanted in apartment shooting
BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — Burgaw Police arrested a man after responding to a shooting at an apartment complex.
It happened Tuesday night after 6:15 p.m. at the Durham Village Apartment Complex. Officers say they responded to a shots fired call and when they arrived, they stopped a vehicle with Theio Manley, 24, (left) and another man inside. Manley ran off in a wooded area and was caught; the other male suspect is still on the run, police say.
Police say a handgun Manley threw away during the chase was also recovered. No injuries were reported in the incident. Manley is facing various firearm charges; he’s currently being held in the Pender County Jail under a $50,000 bond.
Police say the other man has been identified as Johnnie Herring, 34 (right). He’s facing charges including firearm charges, resisting an officer and leaving the scene of an accident.
