Man faces murder charge after deadly Wilmington hit-and-run

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A man is facing a second degree murder charge after a deadly hit-and-run in Wilmington.

Austin Taylor Hall, 30, had his first appearance in New Hanover County court Wednesday.

Police say he killed Jannon Gail Rogers, 45, during the accident on Hillside Drive in Wilmington on June 22.

Hall is also charged with driving while impaired, felony hit and run, death by vehicle and reckless driving.

His bond is set at $650,000.

His next appearance has not been determined.
