WILMINGTON, NC (StarNews) — A Wilmington man was found guilty of a lesser murder charge Friday in the 2011 stabbing death of a man outside a downtown nightclub.
After a week of testimony and two days of deliberation a New Hanover County jury found Ronald Armond Farrow, 33, guilty of second-degree murder in the Jan. 24, 2011, killing of Taaron Quintel Jones, 19. Prosecutors had been seeking a first-degree murder conviction against Farrow.
Judge Ebern T. Watson sentenced Farrow to 19.75 to 28 years in prison. He also pleaded guilty to unrelated drug charges and was sentenced to 1.4 to 2.5 years to run concurrent with the murder sentence.
