Man on federal release sentenced in drug investigation

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A 36-year-old man who was supervised release for federal drug and gun charges pleaded guilty to heroin charges in New Hanover County.

According to a spokeswoman with District Attorney Ben David’s Office, Yuri Scott pleaded guilty yesterday to charges of trafficking heroin. He was sentenced to between six and eight years in prison.

In October and December of 2014, Scott sold more than 1,200 bags of heroin to someone working at the direction of law enforcement. The sales happened at the Tidewater Apartments.
