Man pleads guilty to burglary, assault

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Castle Hayne man is going to prison after pleading to burglary and beating up another man.

Thomas Lloyd Todd pleaded guilty in New Hanover County Superior Court to assault inflicting serious bodily injury and second degree burglary.

A judge sentenced Todd, 32, to between three and five years in prison.

A news release from the District Attorney’s office said the victim had multiple facial fractures and has ongoing medical problems because of the assault. The victim was present in court for the plea and Todd apologized to him for his actions, according to the news release.
