Man pleads guilty to indecent liberties with a minor
BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Leland man will spend at least a year behind bars after pleading guilty to sexual acts with a 14-year-old girl.
The Brunswick County District Attorney’s Office says Corey Allen Sullivan, 24, pleaded guilty this week to three counts of indecent liberties with a minor for incidents in July of 2009.
Prosecutors say Sullivan gave the girl alcohol and then engaged in sexual acts with her. The victim told police it happened on three separate days. Sullivan confessed to police when they initially questioned him.
A judge sentenced Sullivan to 12 to 15 months in prison. That active sentence will be followed by two additional 12- to 15-month sentences, which will be suspended for three years of probation. Sullivan will now be required to complete sex offender treatment in prison and register as a sex offender for the next 30 years.
