Man struck by train & killed in Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, NC (AP) — Charlotte police are investigating the death of a man hit by a train in Charlotte.
Police say a 54-year-old man walking on tracks was struck and killed shortly after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Police say the victim was Ronald Gray Treadwell.
Police say the engineer on the Norfolk Southern train tried to warn the man by blowing the whistle several times. Investigators say Treadwell was walking on the track with his back to the train.
Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
