Man taken into custody in connection to Bladen County shooting

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Riegelwood man is in jail after allegedly shooting another man multiple times in mid June.

On June 16, the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office received a report around 5:30 p.m. of a man shot in the ankle, leg, arm, and chest in the East Arcadia area at Sambo’s night club on Carter Road.

The sheriff’s office says the victim, 31-year-old Tyron Byrd, was driven to the Acme Delco Rescue Squad building and transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment.

On Wednesday night, the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office arrested 30-year-old Shamar Davone Keaton.

During the arrest, deputies reportedly found three stolen firearms, seven grams of cocaine, 60 grams of marijuana, and approximately $5,000 in cash.

He was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury in the shooting of Tyron Byrd among numerous drug charges, deputies say.

Keaton is in jail under a $80,000 secured bond.
