Man, woman arrested on sex exploitation charges

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Pender County couple is in jail on multiple charges of sex exploitation of a child.

According to Pender County Jail records, 54-year-old Roger Edwin Hare, Jr. and 46-year-old Loretta Lynn Hare of Hampstead were arrested Sunday.

According to the Pender County Sheriff’s Office, investigators arrested the pair after getting a tip that they had numerous images of child pornography at their home.

Loretta Hare faces 10 charges of 3rd degree sexual exploitation of a minor, two charges of disseminating obscene material to a minor under 13, and a felony charge of disseminating obscene material to a minor under 13. Her bond is set at $280,000.

Roger Hare, Jr. faces 10 charges of 2nd degree sexual exploitation of a minor, disseminating obscene material to a minor under 13, and two felony charges of disseminating obscenity to a minor under 13. His bond is set at $780,000.

More charges are expected to be filed against the married couple. Both remain in the Pender County Jail.
