Man, woman found dead at home in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (AP) — Police in Winston-Salem say a man
shot and killed his estranged wife before killing himself.

Neighbors heard shots and called police Sunday afternoon.
Officers found the body of 33-year-old Monika Mittal outside the
front door of her home. She had been shot several times.

Her husband, Sandeep Mittal, was still inside.

SWAT team members forced their way into the house two hours
later and discovered that Sandeep Mittal had shot and killed
himself.

The couple’s 5-year-old daughter was in the home when the
shootings occurred but was not hurt.

Police say the couple had been separated for about two months.
