McRae Street to close next week for railroad bridge repairs

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — McRae Street will be closed to traffic next week while CSX Transportation completes repairs to an overhead railroad bridge, according to the City of Wilmington.

The full closure is scheduled for:

• Monday, Aug. 17 through Thursday, Aug. 20
• 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day

Detour signs will be in place to direct drivers around the closure.

Motorists should expect delays and longer travel times and are encouraged to avoid the area if possible.

The city said the work schedule could change because of weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Officials will provide an update if the schedule changes.
