WILMINGTON, NC (CFCC) — Louise McColl, President of McColl & Associates, recruited the Meadowlark Lemon Ministries to Port City for the community to enjoy in August 2010.

Lemon, originally from Wilmington, thrilled fans for years while playing on the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team for twenty-four seasons. Today, his ministry reaches people around the country. In February 2011, Lemon announced intentions to donate a scholarship of $1,100 annually for the next five years to CFCC. The scholarship will be awarded to one deserving student athlete on the men’s basketball team each year. Applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 to be considered for the scholarship.

“Since we brought the Harlem All-Stars to CFCC, Meadowlark decided to create a scholarship for basketball players to thank CFCC for everything they did that night,” said McColl.
