Burgaw Police: Minor injured in shooting incident

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Burgaw Police are investigating after a minor was brought to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

Officials said at 1:48 p.m. this afternoon, officers with the Burgaw Police Department and Pender County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Pender Memorial Hospital for a juvenile who sustained a gunshot wound.

Police said the victim was transported to the hospital by a family member in a personally owned vehicle and then flown to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

The incident was reported as an accidental shooting.

Police say this is an onging investigation.
