Missing teen’s body found, 2 facing murder charges

SPRING LAKE, NC (AP) — Authorities in central North Carolina
say two people are in custody and facing murder charges after the
body of a missing Spring Lake teen was found.

Investigators say 17-year-old Vincent Carlisle Jr.’s body was
found Thursday in a wooded area north of Spring Lake. The body is
being sent to the state medical examiner in Chapel Hill for an
autopsy.

Authorities tell The Fayetteville Observer that two people
were being held without bail at the Harnett
County jail on first-degree murder charges Thursday night. Their
names were not immediately released.

Debbie Tanna, a spokeswoman for the Cumberland County Sheriff’s
Office, says the killing appears to have happened in Harnett
County.

Family members say they last heard from Carlisle around 10 p.m.
Sunday when he left the house.
