Mount Misery road to close for three months

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A section of Mount Misery Road near Leland will close on Monday and will not reopen until September.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation says crews will replace two metal drainage pipes with a reinforced concrete box culvert.

The road will be closed just north of Lincoln Road to the new bridge over the railroad tracks on Mount Misery Road.

Traffic will be detoured to Interstate 140 and U.S. 74/76.

The road will close at 9:00 a.m. on Monday.
