Museum of Coastal Carolina announces new line of fall events

OCEAN ISLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The Museum of Coastal Carolina will celebrate Halloween with a month of coastal-themed activities throughout October.

The museum’s Creepy Coastal Gallery Crawl will run Thursdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guests can explore themed activities and learning stations focused on animals such as sharks, bats, alligators and jellyfish.

The event begins Oct. 8 with a new video in the Legacy of the Loggerhead exhibit, followed by a Sandbar Lecture Series presentation on sea turtle DNA at 5:30 p.m. The month-long celebration wraps up Oct. 31 with Deep Sea Games.

Weekly family programs will also be offered throughout October.

Sea Tales will take place Thursdays at 11 a.m., featuring a children’s story followed by a related craft or science activity.

Investigating Invertebrates: Crustaceans will take place Saturdays at 11 a.m., focusing this month on isopods and featuring hands-on activities and facts about different species.
