NASCAR driver Carl Edwards on the mend

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — A hospital spokeswoman says NASCAR driver Carl Edwards has been released from an Omaha hospital after being injured in a dirt track race.

Details of the injury that Edwards suffered Sunday haven’t been made available. But Edwards’ younger brother Kenny told the Omaha World-Herald it could be a dislocated thumb, caught in the steering wheel during a crash.

Edwards is currently ranked fifth in the Nextel Cup standings and leads the Busch standings. He was released from the hospital yesterday.
