New Hanover Correctional Institution hosting correctional officer hiring event

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is hosting a hiring event this week for people interested in becoming correctional officers.

The event will take place Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the New Hanover Correctional Institution.

Officials say both full-time and part-time correctional officer positions are available.

People hired into full-time correctional officer positions may also qualify for a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

Applicants can apply online before the event or complete an application in person. Officials encourage candidates to come prepared for an interview.
