New Hanover County food access summit set for Oct. 22

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Registration is open for the second annual New Hanover County Food Access Summit, which will focus on improving food access and strengthening food security in the community.
The summit, titled “United at the Table: A Community Approach to Food Security,” will be held Thursday, Oct. 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Cape Fear Community College’s Union Station.
Organizers say the event will bring community members together for discussions focused on collaboration and efforts to address food insecurity throughout New Hanover County.
The free summit is open to community leaders, nonprofit organizations, health care professionals, educators, local businesses, policymakers and residents interested in food access and food security.
Registration is required, and space is limited. The deadline to register is Friday, Oct. 9.
