New summer art exhibitions coming to Cameron Art Museum
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)– The Cameron Art Museum is preparing for a new slate of summer exhibitions designed to engage audiences in fresh and interactive ways.
Opening Thursday night, the Cameron Art Museum will debut Fresh Air: Inflatable Sculptures, Andy Warhol: Silver Clouds, and Rooted in Memory: The Gullah Geechee Vision of Jonathan Green. The exhibitions include interactive installations, immersive environments, and works celebrating cultural heritage and contemporary creativity.
Benjamin Billingsley says the goal is to make art more accessible and inviting for all audiences.
“This isn’t the kind of museum experience your great-grandmother would have had,” he said. “It’s contemporary, it’s fun, it’s fresh, and it’s not intimidating. It’s something people of all ages can enjoy.”
Tickets are required for Thursday’s opening night event. More information is available through the Cameron Art Museum. A free community day will follow on Saturday, offering public access to all exhibitions from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
