No. 2 North Carolina 80, Florida State 59

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Ivory Latta scored 21 points as Number 2 North Carolina shook off 28 turnovers and bounced back from its only loss of the season with an 80-59 win over Florida State last night.

The Tar Heels jumped to a 20-point lead at 30-10 with 5:44 left in the half.

Despite shooting just 25 percent from the floor in the first half, Florida State narrowed its deficit to 36-26 at the break but could never get closer.

Erlana Larkins added 16 points, Rashanda McCants 13 and LaToya Pringle and Camille Little 11 apiece for North Carolina.

Mara Freshour's 12 points led the Seminoles.
