WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Community members gathered at 1898 Memorial Park on Saturday for the latest round of nationwide “No Kings” rallies, with local leaders speaking to the crowd and organizers encouraging early voting ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

Despite the rainy conditions, dozens of protesters, speakers and representatives from various organizations gathered to share their views and make their voices heard.

The event also focused on encouraging voter participation and increasing early-voting turnout ahead of the midterm elections.

The Wilmington event featured remarks from state Rep. Deb Butler, Mayor Bill Saffo and City Council members Kevin Spears and Salette Andrews.
