North Brunswick stays unbeaten with 27-7 win over West Carteret

LELAND, N.C. — North Brunswick struck early and never looked back Friday night, defeating West Carteret 27-7.

The Scorpions opened the scoring when quarterback Jaiden Cokeley-Pridgenn dropped back and connected with Marley Hertz, who took the pass into the end zone for a touchdown. Connor Pahe added the extra point to give North Brunswick a 7-0 lead.

West Carteret looked to respond as Rushawn McDonald made a big catch to move the chains and give the Patriots a first down.

But North Brunswick’s defense soon delivered another score. Max Thayer took the handoff for West Carteret before losing the football. Christian Willett scooped up the fumble and returned it all the way for a Scorpions touchdown.

North Brunswick stayed in control from there and went on to earn a 27-7 victory over West Carteret. The scorpions sit at 3-0 after week three.
