SHALLOTTE, NC (WWAY) — Novant Health has opened a new outpatient infusion clinic in Shallotte, expanding access to infusion therapy and chemotherapy services for patients in Brunswick and Columbus counties.

The clinic opened July 21 and is located at 512 Village Road, Suite 206. It will initially operate from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

According to Novant Health, the clinic provides intravenous medication infusions for a variety of conditions, including anemia, asthma, heart failure, inflammatory bowel disease, migraines, multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis and rheumatoid arthritis. The facility also offers chemotherapy infusions.

The new clinic is part of a broader expansion of Novant Health services in Brunswick County.

Health system officials said additional projects planned or underway include a new ambulatory surgery center in the Leland area, expanded MRI space and a cardiac catheterization lab at Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center in Bolivia, a planned 20-bed hospital in Leland and a future freestanding emergency department in Carolina Shores.

Kevin Briggs, president of Novant Health Brunswick Medical Center, said the new clinic is intended to improve access to care for patients closer to where they live.

The clinic is located just off U.S. 17 in Shallotte.
