WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Community members will have an opportunity to learn more about their brain and cardiovascular health during a free Brain Health Fair hosted by Novant Preventive Neurology later this month.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Capt’n Bill’s Warehouse.

According to organizers, the fair will offer a variety of free health screenings, educational resources and personalized assessments designed to help participants better understand and optimize their brain, vascular and overall health.

Novant Preventive Neurology clinicians and specialists will be on hand to provide information and answer questions about brain health, stroke prevention and cardiovascular wellness.

A highlight of the event will be a limited-time opportunity for attendees to receive free Lp(a) testing, a screening that can help identify an individual’s risk for certain cardiovascular conditions. Elevated lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a), levels are considered a genetic risk factor for heart disease and stroke.

In addition to screenings, attendees can participate in interactive educational activities focused on maintaining long-term brain health and reducing risk factors associated with neurological and cardiovascular diseases.

The event is open to the public and free to attend.
