Oak Island Splashpad to reopen for upcoming summer events
OAK ISLAND, NC (WWAY) — The Oak Island Splashpad is reopening for select events at the Middleton Park Complex following improvements to Brunswick County’s Stage 2 water restrictions.
The Town of Oak Island announced Thursday that the Splashpad will be open for all Town events scheduled at the Middleton Park Complex through September.
The limited reopening begins Thursday, Aug. 20, during the Summer Concert Series featuring Rivermist.
The Splashpad will be open during the following events:
- Aug. 20: Summer Concert Series featuring Rivermist — 3 to 8 p.m.
- Aug. 21: Summer Concert Series featuring Hoods Creek — 3 to 8 p.m.
- Aug. 28: Summer Concert Series featuring The Conspiracy — 3 to 8 p.m.
- Sept. 4: Movie Night at Middleton — 3 to 8 p.m.
- Sept. 5: Sunset on Summer Music Festival — noon to 8 p.m.
The town said the reopening is limited and is based on updates to Brunswick County’s water restrictions.
Officials cautioned that the Splashpad’s availability could change if water restrictions are modified in the future.
