Officials seek suspect in NC-based soldier’s death
FAYETTEVILLE, NC (AP) — Law enforcement in Cumberland County is continuing its search for a suspect in connection with a two-year-old murder case.
Investigators say they’re looking for 28-year-old Tobijah Nelson, who is wanted for accessory after the fact to the murder of a US Army soldier.
The Sheriff’s Office said Nelson and 24-year old Demar Bryan were at a Spring Lake club in March 2009 when an argument broke out between Bryan and a woman. Officials say 27-year-old Charles Clemens, who was assigned to Fort Hood, was attending a birthday party at the club and got into an argument with Bryan. Clemens was shot and killed, and his friend was wounded.
Bryan was apprehended and is awaiting trial on a murder charge. Authorities say Nelson was last seen in the New York area.
