One man arrested after break-in in Tabor City; another on the run

TABOR CITY, NC (WWAY) — A man was arrested in Tabor City after he broke in to a home and fired shots at police, Saturday afternoon.

Captain Greg Sibbett with the Tabor City Police Department says 22-year-old Lamont Delaney, of North Charleston, was caught breaking into someone’s home on Seal Street. Officers managed to capture him but another suspect got away. Sibbett says officers fought with both subjects. No officers were injured and no one was shot.

Delaney is in jail under a $40,000 secured bond and is charged with breaking and entering, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, among other charges. The police department is asking for people to be on the lookout for the second suspect, a 20-year-old black male, who was seen with Delaney on Watering street before the break-in.
