‘One Tree Hill’ fans return to Wilmington for 23rd anniversary

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington is turning back into Tree Hill this weekend as fans celebrate the 23rd anniversary of “One Tree Hill.”

Fans are expected to return to the city where the television series was filmed, with downtown businesses offering themed specials, merchandise and events throughout the weekend.

Visitors can also stop by several familiar filming locations while exploring the businesses that occupy those spaces today.

Locations include Outdoor Equipped, Modern Legend, Maroon Monkey, the former location used as Karen’s Café, Blue Post and Hell’s Kitchen.

Anniversary events are also planned at the Wilmington Convention Center throughout the weekend.

“One Tree Hill” premiered in September 2003 and was filmed in Wilmington, with locations across the area serving as the fictional town of Tree Hill.

The weekend gives fans an opportunity to revisit locations featured in the series while marking 23 years since its debut.
