ONLY ON 3 UPDATE: Businesses help brides jilted by Orton

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A follow up to a story you saw ONLY ON 3. Some local businesses are lending a hand to help some brides in need.

Last week we told you that Orton Plantation will no longer honor their wedding contracts for 2011. That left at least two brides from the Wilmington area with no wedding venue. Beachside Occasions is coming to the rescue. The company’s owners have offered their ceremony set-up services for free at the brides’ new venues.

“My wife and I, just got married in January, and we know how difficult it is to find a location, first off, but, once you secure that location, if something changes, it’s really difficult to get something else, so we wanted to try and help the bride out in any way possible,” said Paul Biancardi of Beachside Occasions.

L&L Tent and Party Rentals has also decided to help the brides out on their special day by offering chairs for the ceremony free of charge.

One of the brides managed to get a spot at Airlie Gardens for her wedding.
