Panthers G Batiste arrested on weapons charge

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Carolina Panthers reserve guard D'Anthony Batiste has been arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon — a misdemeanor.

Police records also show Batiste was given a citation for a window-tinting violation after being pulled over Sunday on a Charlotte street.

Batiste was signed by Carolina off Dallas' practice squad midway through last season, but he did not appear in a game with the Panthers.

Batiste, who turns 25 on Thursday, played in college at Louisiana-Lafayette before stints playing minor league indoor football and in the Canadian Football League.
