Parents and kids come out to Battleship North Carolina for Family Day
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Plenty of parents and kids took advantage of the nice weather Saturday to head to Wilmington’s most famous landmark, the Battleship North Carolina, for Family Day.
VIP guided tours were available for guests, with all the proceeds going towards restoration and education projects at the battleship.
Trolly Stop Hot Dogs was on site if people needed a bite to eat.
Tane Casserly from NOAA’s National Marine Sanctuary was there to give lectures about sunken World War II German U-Boats discovered off the NC coast.
The day’s festivities ended with a free World War II submarine film in the evening.
