Pender County pool contractor in court as allegations of unfinished projects grow

BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — A Pender County pool contractor is facing more than the summer heat as a growing number of lawsuits and criminal charges continue to mount.

Christian Villa, owner of Sunrise Pool Inc., appeared in court to face multiple charges related to alleged unfinished pool construction projects.

Villa was previously charged with accepting nearly $98,000 from a customer for a pool project that officials say was never completed after payment was made.

According to court documents, Villa now faces additional charges involving similar allegations of accepting payment and failing to complete the contracted work.

The court continued the case due to the additional charges and has appointed an attorney. Villa’s next hearing is scheduled for August 12.
