Pender County School District says reported Topsail Middle threat not credible

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Officials say a reported threat at Topsail Middle School has been investigated and determined to be non-credible.

According to a statement, school administrators were made aware of the report and immediately notified the school resource officer. The situation was then investigated in coordination with the Pender County Sheriff’s Office.

Following that investigation, officials determined the reported threat was not credible.

School leaders say the safety of students and staff remains a top priority and that all reports are taken seriously, with established safety protocols followed to maintain a secure environment.

Due to student privacy protections, officials say no additional details about individuals involved will be released.
