Pet adoption, animal blessing event planned in Shallotte
SHALLOTTE, NC (WWAY) — A Shallotte church is holding a pet adoption event and animal blessing this weekend.
St. James the Fisherman Episcopal Church will host its Pet-A-Palooza event Saturday, Oct. 3, from 2 to 4 p.m. on the church’s front lawn at 4941 Main St.
The event will include pet adoptions through Empowering Pawz Rescue Shelter of Calabash and Cat Tails Rescue Shelter of Ocean Isle Beach.
People can also bring their current pets, or pets adopted during the event, to participate in the church’s Blessing of the Animals service.
The event is being held as part of the church’s observance of the Feast of St. Francis weekend.
Pet-A-Palooza is open to people interested in adopting an animal as well as those who want to bring their pets for a blessing.
