Police: Two victims identified in Surf City fatal crash

SURF CITY, NC (WWAY) — The Surf City Police Department said they’ve received confirmation from the NC Medical Examiner’s Office of the identities of two victims involved in a fatal crash this past weekend.

Police said the crash happened in the 1600 block of North New River Drive around 10:32 p.m. Sunday night.

The driver has been identified as Tommy Rifton Bradshaw, 38, of Rose Hill.

The passenger has been identified as Jamison Davis of Spencer, 37, Massachusetts.

Surf City Police Chief Ron Shanahan said James Coleman Thomason, 23, of Topsail Beach, is charged with two counts felony death by motor vehicle, DWI, open container, improper passing, careless and reckless driving, driving left of center, exceeding posted speed and failure to reduce speed.
