WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Comic books, video games, collectibles and more will be on display when the Pop Culture Expo comes to the University of North Carolina Wilmington later this month.

The Pop Culture Expo: UNCW Edition will take place Saturday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Burney Center, located at 609 Union Drive.

Sponsored by Buried Under Comics & Toys, the event will bring together local vendors, artists and pop culture fans for a day of buying, trading and exploring collectibles.

Organizers say the expo will feature 130 vendor tables offering everything from comic books and video games to vinyl records, vintage T-shirts, collectible toys and original artwork.

Attendees can also browse Pokémon cards, LEGO sets, Magic: The Gathering merchandise and other collectibles.

The event will also feature appearances by members of the 501st Carolina Garrison, a local Star Wars costume group.

Stormtroopers and other characters will be available for photos with attendees.

In addition to shopping, the expo will give visitors an opportunity to meet local artists, creators and vendors.

Advance general admission tickets are available for $7, while admission at the door will cost $10.

UNCW students can attend for $5 with a valid student ID, and children ages 12 and younger will receive free admission.

The Pop Culture Expo will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at UNCW’s Burney Center.
