WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — History and cocktails will come together aboard the Battleship North Carolina this fall for a new fundraising event supporting the preservation of the ship’s World War II collection.

Bottleship: History Served Neat is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 2, at 6:30 p.m. in the Battleship’s Wardroom.

The event is presented by the Friends of the Battleship North Carolina in partnership with Four Hounds Distilling.

Guests will learn about the history of three ships named USS North Carolina, spanning three different eras, while enjoying historic rum cocktails and a Southern barbecue dinner.

The evening will feature a “spirited” rum presentation with Smuggler Mac, along with three historic cocktails inspired by the ships and their eras.

Tickets are a $75 donation per person and include the rum presentation, catered Southern barbecue dinner and one signature cocktail.

Guests can purchase two additional historic cocktails for $12 each.

The event is open to guests 21 and older, and advance reservations are required because space is limited.

Proceeds will support the growth and preservation of the Battleship North Carolina’s World War II collection.
