Rivers, Ellington and Singler win ACC weekly honors
GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Clemson’s K.C. Rivers and North Carolina’s Wayne Ellington are co-players of the week in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Duke freshman Kyle Singler is the rookie of the week for the second straight week.
Rivers averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds as the 18th-ranked Tigers posted victories over Purdue and South Carolina.
Ellington averaged 20 points and 5 rebounds as the top-ranked Tar Heels won two games on the road over Ohio State and Kentucky. Ellington was 14-of-31 from the field in the two games and did not commit a turnover in 32 minutes.
In earning the rookie of the week award for the second straight week, Singler led seventh-ranked Duke to victories over Wisconsin and Davidson. He averaged 13.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists, while shooting 52.9 percent on 9-of-17 shooting.
