Shine Your Light Talent Show returns to Wilmington this weekend

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The annual Shine Your Light Talent Show is taking place this weekend.

It’s a talent show for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

“Everyone gets to sing. They get to shine. We have some very talented young people,” said event organizer Pat Wiegand.

The talent show is happening on Saturday, July 18 at 1 p.m. at Freedom Baptist Church located at 802 North College Road in Wilmington.

Tickets are $10 and kids under 5 get in for free.

The event also features a razzle for prizes. Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.

WWAY’s Tomika Jackson will be hosting the talent show.

The fundraiser will help provide free holiday gifts to families with an intellectual or developmental disability.
