Shots fired into Wilmington home with child inside

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating after someone fired shots into a home with a child inside.

According to Wilmington Police, a shotspotter alert came in just after 3:15 p.m

Police say someone fired shots into a home at the intersection of Manly Avenue and Johnson Street.

Freeman Elementary and Mosley were briefly under a shelter in place by law enforcement. According to New Hanover County Schools, students at Freeman were dismissed before the shelter began.

Police have closed off the intersection while they investigate.

No one was hurt.

So far, no arrests have been made.
