Skywatch Bird Rescue hosts a yard sale fundraiser and baby bird baby shower

Castle Hayne, NC (WWAY) — Skywatch Bird Rescue will host two events to support the arrival of newborn birds as spring kicks into full gear.

On Saturday, April 18th Skywatch will hold it’s first yard sale of the year from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to help pay for bills and other operating expenses that aren’t typically covered by donations during the busiest intake time of the year. 

Skywatch is seeking and accepting new or gently-used item donations for the sale.

Items that are broken or in need of repairs before being sold are not needed for the sale, and  puzzles, books, board games, clothes/shoes, or furniture are not also needed.

All other home décor and household items will be accepted.

On Saturday, April 25th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Skywatch is inviting the community to join them for a baby shower to welcome the new arrivals who will soon need help by coming out to the rescue and bringing a crucial gift from Skywatch’s baby registry to support their ongoing care. 

Entry is a monetary donation of $10 per person or one item per person.

Attendees will be able to walk around the front pasture and also spoil a friendly flock of donkeys.
