Some Lake Waccamaw water customers to lose service

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – Starting Thursday, a water outage will affect some Lake Waccamaw Water System customers because of a fire hydrant replacement project.

This will only affect people who live along Waccamaw Shores Road.

It begins at 9:00 a.m. Thursday and will continue until further notice.

The Division of Water Resources advises that once water is restored you should boil all water that will be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and preparing food, or use bottled water.

Water should be boiled for one minute.

The Town of Lake Waccamaw also urges residents to conserve water.
