South 10th Street evacuated

WILMINGTON, NC — Residents on South 10th Street in Wilmington were evacuated Tuesday night.

Officials say the bomb squad and CSI were called in. The street was evacuated for safety reasons. According to investigators, three acid bombs were found.

Other bombs, similar in nature were also found on 13th and Queen Streets but the lieutenant on scene could not confirm an exact number.

Police said the bombs are a weak attempt of vandalism. There was no damage to the, area and no one was in danger.

Residents are now allowed back into their homes.

Investigators do not have a suspect.
